Hope arrives in 2025 - bringing sight, healing, and second chances to rural Nigeria.
In 2025, the Nanka School Project (NSP) expanded its life-changing impact once again, bringing free, high-quality healthcare directly to the people of Nanka and surrounding communities. Over nine previous medical missions, NSP had served more than 5,500 indigent men, women, and children, providing more than 4,300 free reading and prescription eyeglasses and over $300,000 worth of medications and medical supplies. The 2025 mission marked a major milestone: for the first time, NSP incorporated minor surgical procedures into the outreach. Fourteen patients received completely free operations, including lumpectomies, hernia repairs, cataract surgeries, and pterygium treatment — procedures that were often financially out of reach but could dramatically improve a person’s quality of life.
During the two-day free clinic at Ofuobi General Hospital, NSP’s dedicated volunteer doctors and nurses served more than 700 patients. Individuals were screened for chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, digestive issues, and eye disorders, while acute conditions like typhoid and malaria, which were common in the area, were treated immediately. All consultations, medications, and surgeries were provided at no cost to the patients.
Support from volunteers and donors helped make the 2025 medical mission possible. Whether through service or financial contributions, supporters directly empowered life-saving care for communities with limited access to healthcare. Every donation helped deliver essential medications, medical supplies, and vision services to those who needed them most.
