Nanka School Project (NSP) Period Poverty Campaign
Period poverty affects female students all over the world especially in developing countries like Nigeria. According to recent studies, one in four girls lack access to sanitary pads, access to health information about menstruation, access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services. In some parts of the world, girls use rags, toilet paper, or newspaper to manage menstrual flow.
Nanka School Project (NSP) is raising funds to supply 457 female students with sanitary hygiene products. There are 390 female students at Community High School Nanka (CHSN) and 67 at Community Secondary School Nanka (CSSN). As little as $4 goes towards purchasing one month ($48 for the year) supply of sanitary pads for one student. Our fundraising goal is $2000—to secure a one-month supply of hygiene products and health/hygiene education services for every female student.
This projected started May, 1st 2022 and was completed on September 30, 2022
Female hygiene products (sanitary pads) distributed to 420 girls, 65 girls from Community Secondary School, Nanka and 355 from Community High School, Nanka. Each student received 3-4 months’ supply.
Budget/spent: $2476
