Our Water Project!

It’s hard to believe that one of the necessities for human existence and survival is still lacking in some countries. Nigeria, a country with many natural resources, lacks access to clean water in many communities and schools.

Community High School-Nanka is one such school with no clean water on the school premises. No clean water for students to drink when they are thirsty. Toilets have no running water and are completely unusable for students and teachers. The only choice these school children have is to go inside a bush or behind the school building to relieve themselves. Imagine a young girl on her menstrual cycle unable to comfortably change and properly dispose of her sanitary pads in privacy. You may ask where and how they wash their hands afterwards. The answer is, they don’t. Yes, they go back inside the classroom with dirty hands with which they eat and interact with other students. Not having functioning restrooms or water at the school makes it impossible for the children to maintain proper hygiene and may increase the spread of communicable diseases.

We at Nanka School Project (NSP) want to change the lives of these children by providing them with clean water and indoor plumbing so that they can learn in a clean and sanitary environment. Water is life, and clean water is necessary for good health.

With your help, these children will have access to water, a fundamental human need. 100% of all donations are used to support NSP efforts in Nanka. Your donation will go directly to the water project. Help put a smile on the face of these young children and make a positive impact in their lives.

UPDATE: Water borehole attempt at Community High School was not successful due to the topography of the area. A decision was made to apply the raised funds to another school in the community, Community Secondary School, Nanka.
